How to stop games from draining your phone

Nothing kills a good session like watching your battery drop ten percent in ten minutes. The good news is most of that drain is avoidable with a few quick changes.

Brightness is the obvious one, but the frame rate cap matters even more in action games. Dropping from an unlocked frame rate to a locked thirty can nearly halve the heat and power draw while barely changing how a slower game feels.

Dig into each game's own settings too. Turning off screen shake, particle effects and background music often saves more than you'd think. Many games hide a battery or low-power mode a couple of menus deep.

Finally, heat and battery go together. A hot phone throttles and drains faster, so take it out of a thick case for long sessions and keep it out of direct sun. Small habits, big difference.
